Selstali to Gaustatoppen 1883 masl.
This spectacular hike takes you, with a guide, from Selstali to Gaustatoppen, and includes a single ticket for Gaustabanen + a round bus trip to Gaustablikk Fjellresort. From the top, on a clear day, you can see one-sixth of Norway! The trip is suitable for families, couples or groups of friends who don’t know the area so well, but who are accustomed to the mountains and hiking, and who want a safe, pleasant guided day trip. The trip includes transport to and from the hotel The ascent is a little more challenging than the most commonly-used path from Stavsro, but is absolutely manageable for people who are accustomed to mountainous environments. The path leads you up to the entrance to Gaustabanen, up the Sherpa stairs to the DNT tourist cabin, and then further on to the radio tower. The ascent takes about 3 hours. You can buy waffles, coffee and other snacks at the tourist hut. No matter where you choose to take your lunch break, the view will be absolutely fantastic (if the weather plays along) and unforgettable! You can read more about Gaustabanen and its history. The trip ends at the Gaustabanen car park, with transport back to Gaustablikk Fjellresort. The trip is adapted to the group and breaks are taken when required.
